Born in New Jersey, Matt Pinfield got his start in 1983 as a radio DJ and music director for the local Rutgers University radio station. This led to a mainstream radio gig at WHTG FM106.3 which in 1994 received the "favorite radio station" honor in Rolling Stone magazine. Matt was also the main DJ at the legendary Melody Bar in New Brunswick, where he built friendships with many substantial and up-and-coming bands. In 1992, Pinfield appeared in an episode of the first season of MTV's "The Real World" when he interviewed members of the rock group Reigndance on-air at WHTG.

Pinfield's television career began in 1995 hosting MTV's "120 Minutes." He went on to host a variety of MTV shows including "Matt Rock," "Pinfield Suite," "Pinfield Presents," "Rocks Off," "Say What?," "MTV Live," and over 100 MTV specials.

In 2001, Pinfield became Vice President of A&R and Artist Development for Columbia Records. Matt is currently on 95.5 KLOS FM in Los Angeles with his show "New and Improved," a show dedicated to keeping new rock alive.

Matt will be spinning tunes along with DJ Ed Wong (Melody Reflux) and Pete Santiago (The Melody Bar). There will also be a live music performance by Tom Kanach and his band. Welcome home, Matt.
